Train with us in Portugal!

obóz biegowy portugaliaOnce again we are very pleased to invite you to the runner’s camp in Portugal. The group is organized in a cross country region of Algarve we have already checked before, near places such as Olhos de Agua and Vilamoura. There are picturesque places full of trails among the citrus orchards, golf courses and, above all, the charming cliffed coast. Here (despite winter at this time of the year) you are going to experience a great dose of sunshine and after a training you can put your tired feet in a cool ocean. You can enjoy great Portuguese coffee, taste local cuisine full of fish and seafood, delicious beef, vegetables and especially wine. The hotel where we are going to stay is located near the cross country loop (it is about 2 km long, we are going to train a lot there) and it has its own athletics stadium (also at our disposal). A shop and a restaurant are 300 m away from the hotel. The beach is about 700 m away from the hotel so everything we need is within reach.

Who can join us?

We encourage all runners , both advanced and beginners, to participate in the camp. Everyone is welcome and we guarantee that the training will be tailored to your skills. During many years of experience in working with amateurs, we met both marathoners whom took far less than 3 hours to complete the race and people who had just “got up off the couch”. That’s why, you do not have to worry if you can handle it!

We start the camp at 16.02.2018 with evening training, and end at 25.02.2018 with morning training.

Accomodation:

Victoria Beach & Sport Apart Hotel **** – in double apartments type: T1 (living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom). All apartments are equipped with balcony, TV LCD, air conditioning, safe, Internet WIFI, hair dryer, towels, bathroom with bath, kitchen. In the kitchen are everything you need to prepare meals. Hotel facilities include an athletic stadium with recently renovated track.

Hotel night starts at 4pm and lasts until 11am

Weather:

por_pogodaWinter in Portugal is similar to spring in Poland. Temperatures during the day in February are around 20 ° C and they can reach up to 25 ° C, while at night it is much cooler. During the day, the sun usually shines, sometimes it may rain but thanks to that, it is a green area and you can smell the blooming almond trees. Sometimes it is windy, especially in open spaces. The water in the ocean, due its low temperature, is ideal for cooling tired legs after a training but you have to be really persistent to swim in it :). In February the sun rises at about 7:20 a.m. and sets about 6:30 p.m. which allows us to enjoy the sun much longer than during this time of the year in Poland. When you want to go for a walk along the coast, it is worth getting to know the schedules of the high and low tides of the ocean so as not to come across places that may be inaccessible during the high tide.

Wioletta FrankiewiczWioletta Frankiewicz
athlete, runner specializing in medium and long distances. Europe record holder in a distance of 2000 m steeplechase, two-time Olympian at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008), bronze medalist of the European Championship in 2006, 14 times Polish Champion, national record holder in distance of 5000 m and 3000 m steeplechase.
